A well needed bit of warmth!

Happy Snow day!
So apparently today is the most depressing day of the year? Well, hopefully this card will bring a bit of cheer - it has a warm feel to it (at least that was the aim!)

Tilda was coloured using Spectrum Noirs
Dress & Hat TB5, TB6, TB7, DR3, DR5
Skin - FS1, FS2, FS3
Hair - TN6, TN7, EB4
Shoes - BT1 & blender pen
Flowers - TB3, DR4, CG4
Champagne - EB1

I then used a heart shaped doily and coloured it using DR3.
The butterflies are spellbinders - the red backing ones are a perfect size match for the detailed die cut ones I have done in navy which gives it a nice effect.
Papers were embossed using spellbinders and then embellishments were added from the crafty stash.

I want to also take the time to say a big thank you to everyone that has commented on my blog since I started it up, your comments have been lovely and they really do mean a lot! :-) Thank you! xxx

More magnolia

Ooooh I have had a busy old day crafting today! :-) I've really tried to experiment with the Tilda stamps, people do such beautiful cards using them, I am doing my best to head towards that, although I have a long way to go!

Tilda was coloured using:
Clothing - CG2, CG4, DG3
Trim on boots, clothing and hat - CG1, CG2
Skin - FS1, FS2, FS3
feather - BG4, BG5
Hair - EB3, EB4

I die cut it using a spellbinders square die, then added a range of embellishments to jazz it up, most of which are Papermania.

For Tilda the skin tones are the same as above
leotard - LV1, LV2, HB2
Hair - TN4, TN7, TN8
ribbon - PL3, HB1

I inked the edge with distress ink and again added a whole host of embellishments. I have really, really enjoyed making these cards today, I really hope you like them! Have a good rest of the evening! Hugs xxx

Brand New Tilda

Hi everyone!!!
Waiting for this snow with baited breath! I don't think it will be anywhere near as bad as people are making out, but we shall see!

I ordered some Magnolia stamps this week, some from Sunrise Crafts and one from Sir Stampalot.  I have to say first of all the speed of the delivery was fantastic!!! Ordered Thursday evening, arrived Saturday morning.  I was so impressed I have ordered some more today!

One of those that I ordered was 'Tilda with love potion'.  I like this image as I feel it can work for a variety of purpose.  It can be valentine/love related but it can also be birthday or congratulations.  Very versatile!

Tilda was coloured using Spectrum Noirs -
Hair - TN4, EB3, EB4, EB5
Dress - PP2, PP3, PP4
Shoes - PP4, PP5
Skin - FS1, FS2, FS3
Champagne glass - IG1 (glass) TN1 (champagne)

I have inked the edges with distress ink (spun sugar) and cut it out using a sizzix framlit die.

The pink dots around the outside edge of the pink paper is liquid pearls - a lot cheaper than using a lot of gems!

gorgeously girly

Hello everyone!
Normality resumes tomorrow so I am making the most of a crafty Sunday!

I coloured this Magnolia stamp using Spectrum Noirs - it's a very pretty and girly image so the same applied to the colours I used.
I then used Sizzix flower dies for the backgrounds and Spellbinders lattice dies for the corners.  I then topped it all off with bits and bobs from the crafty stash.
It was actually a really simple card to do, the thing that took the longest was the colouring!
But as I love a bit of therapeutic colouring I don't mind how long that takes! ;-)

Hope everyone has a super week! xxx

A Musical Birthday

Happy New Year everyone!!! How lovely to have seen the back of 2012, I really hope 2013 is a wonderful year for you all!
I was asked to do a Birthday card for someone who loved all things West End Musical/Broadway.  All I knew was that the Phantom of the opera was her favourite musical.  I have got to say of all the cards I have been asked to make, this one was the most difficult! It was knowing where to start! I love musicals myself but what is my idea of the perfect musical might be someone elses' living hell!

But anyway....... I got to it! This is what I came up with....

It became a case of looking for images that I could use.  The backing paper (the orange lights) is actually a picture of the lights from Broadway, but I loved how they were out of focus.  I then used the mask from the Phantom and the hat from Chicago as the other musical references.  Finally the 'clacker' (I'm sure it has a proper name, but it escapes me right now!) was printed, and the recipients name popped on for the personal touch.  I used one of my new Spellbinders dies for the sentiment and then just added some last touches from the crafty stash! Hope you like!
The person who ordered the card is thrilled with it, which is lovely!

Have a great rest of your day everyone whatever you are doing! xx
