More tattered lace play time

Evening everyone!
It's half way through the holiday already, where is this week going? I would like to say that my new half term resolution will be to find more of a work life balance so I can craft more, but I don't realistically see it happening! :-( Still, I'll make the most of it while I can!

Here I have used a yellow centura pearl as the backing with First edition paper on top. I then used Tattered lace border dies and the tattered lace oriental fan for the topper. Both were die cut again using First Edition (Blank Canvas collection). The happy birthday sentiment is also Tattered lace.
I finished off with some pretty beads I got from the warehouse sale at the weekend.
Not long now till the NEC, I'm hoping I can take a day off to go and spend a few pennies! :-)

Finally some crafting time!

Hi everyone!!!

So it's that time of year again when I am on holiday and can actually craft! Hooray!!!
Treated myself at the Tattered lace /my craft studio warehouse on Saturday to some lovely new dies, so decided to have a play today!

I have used Papermania for the backing, then Centura Pearl for the white dies.
The shape in the middle is Sizzix with my new Tattered Lace piano on top.
The musical notes and the treble clef are Memory Box dies.
The sentiment is a die from Joanna Sheen.
I thought it was quite a versatile die, can be used for any gender and - more specifically - all those music lovers out there!
As I am a piano player myself I am particularly fond of it!!!

Happy crafting everyone! And here's for some nicer weather! xxx

Time to crack out the Christmas crafting!

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend!
I am hosting another card party in a couple of weeks so have cracked open the Christmas craft boxes - seems mad in August! But everyone is always after a good card early, I suppose it's one less thing to do when the madness of December hits!
I have played around with a few bits and bobs this weekend and this card is probably my favourite from all the ones I made.
I used a 6x6 card and used the new Christmas paper range of docrafts for the backing paper. I then used a sizzix framelit square to cut the square out of the middle. On the inside of the car I used a Marianne tall house die from the creatables range. The tree is also Marianne with added gems for a bit of sparkle! The banner is Lala land dies. To finish off, I used a wodden 'joy' sentiment.

I hope you like! Simple but a bit festive! :-) Hugs xxx

La la land - cute as a button images

Hi everyone! It's the weekend! Hooray! Hope you have all had a wonderful week. I am halfway through my holiday already, it has flown by, but the great thing is I've been able to get back to Birmingham and see all my family and friends and be 'Kerriann' again rather than 'Miss'! It's been lovely! Friend, daughter, auntie, granddaughter, they have been the roles I have fallen back in to so far!

I bought some more digi stamps this week from la la land crafts, which, if you are friends with me on facebook, you will know they are my newest obsession!
I coloured the girl using spectrum noirs (TN7,3,2 for the hair, FS9,4,1 for skin, PP5 and 2 for the dress, IB3 and 1 for all the blue detail.)
The circles are sizzix framlits and the curved border is spellbinders.

Hope you like! Have a wonderful evening everyone! xxx

New dies

Good evening everyone! Hope it has been a good week for you all and you have nice things planned for over the weekend. I have had a really busy week, been into school for 2 days just trying to get everything ready for it all to begin again September. Took a day off from it all today to chill a bit!

I had some deliveries of new dies this week and I have used 2 of them on this card. All the papers I have used are all First Edition 'Blank Canvas' and they are really pretty colours. It's available in the Range for £7.99. I first used the Spellbinders die Floral Ovals before using Marrianne Designs Creatables Cupcake. This is a wonderful die, there are so many things you can do with it. As well as the 4 elements you can see in my cupcake, there is also a flower and candle die as part of the set to put on top of the cake.
I finished it off using the La la Land Heart Banner which is possibly my new favourite!
The bow is from the new Lilibet collection, also available at the Range.

Hope you like! I see myself using these dies a lot more! :-)

Bunting - always a winner!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Hi everyone!

I've been doing a bit of colouring again lately, this time I used one if my Strawberry Kisses stamps from Crafter's Companion.

I used used dove crafts papers for the background and then again for the spellbinders rectangles. The lace is from docrafts as is the sentiment.

I have had a clear out this week and whist rummaging came across twine and bunting that I hadn't used yet. So I thought I would put it to good use! I attached the end triangles and middle one with pinflair, using the other 2 to move loosely giving it a bit more interest.

Hope you like! Very girly but I make no excuses for it! ;-) Hehe!

Die cutting delights

Hi everyone!
Hope you are all well, and have enjoyed the heatwave. I am slightly grateful that it's beginning to cool a little mind! I haven't been on here for a couple of months now, sadly I lost my nan very suddenly at the end of May - to say it was a shock was an understatement so I have just been trying to muddle through and get myself back on track.
But here I am, back again, having another go at it and trying to get the old crafty mojo back!

Here I have used the Lala Land hot air balloon die, the Spellbinders d-lite wrought iron gate and the whimsical tree.
I ran some card through the grand calibur using the m-bossibilities garden lattice folder for the backing.
For finishing touches I added some liquid pearl to the gate and balloon and some stickles to the tree.

I really hope you like it, I'm getting there again and now I'm on my Summer hols plan to have a bit more of a play!

Any occasion

Morning everyone!
Hope you are all well!
I made another white on white card last night but this time wanted to do a generic one that could be given for a variety of occasions, which is why I went for the 'with love' sentiment.

The card is 6x6, using the A4 garden lattice m-bossabilities folder for the back ground.
I then cut out the flower using a Sizzix framelit, layering the bottom part with the Spellbinders basic lattice and framing with the Sizzix framelit die. The small flower is also Sizzix.
The corners are Spellbinders Lattice Accents and then the whole thing is completed with ribbon and pearls.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day, and again, thank you for your lovely comments, they really do mean a lot :-) xxx

A bit of a challenge

Hi everyone!
I have a very stressful week coming up as all year 6 teachers will tell you - it's the dreaded sats!!! So I decided to have a bit of a chill day and do some crafting. I wanted to do something that was a little challenging, so I decided to get my snow white Centura Pearl out and use that as the only card. I then got out a whole heap of dies and tried to create something delicate and pretty.

I really hope you like what I've put together!

First I used the Garden Lattice A4 m-bossabilities for the background, followed by the basic lattice die. I then cut a Sizzix framelit out of the lattice and made a border using 2 Sizzix framelits together to get the frame in the middle.
I then die cut Lattice Accents for the middle, placing a sentiment in the centre. I completed it with some pearl and ribbon from the Ribbon Reel.

Thank you for stopping my and more importantly thank you for any comments that you have left on my blog. I really do appreciate them, I don't get to do crafting as much as I would like but it really does act as light therapy for me when things get stressful, which in my line of work they tend to!

Thanks everyone and have a great night!!! xxx

Sherri Baldy stamps - my new favourite obsession

Hi everyone!

Hope the bank holiday treated you all well and you enjoyed the sunshine! I forgot how lovely the sunny weather could be!
I treated myself to some Sherri Baldy stamps over the weekend and managed to squeeze in a little bit of crafting. I think I may be officially obsessed with these images! So cute!

Hair: TN2, TN3, TN4
Skin: FS2, FS3, FS4
Jeans: TB3, TB4, TB5
Top, trainers, headband: PP2, PP3, PP4

The pink backing paper and blue card behind the image are Centura Pearl and the blue spotty/pink spotty papers are from the Papermania Capsula Collection.
The ribbon and lace are both from the Ribbon Reel.
The buttons are also from the Capsule Collection.
The die cutting has been done using Spellbinders labels 29.

Can't wait till next weekend, I will hopefully have some crafty time ahead of a very stressful work week!

Happy Crafting! :-) xx

I am entering this card for the Pink and Blue challenge: http://www.emmascardsuk.com/p/emmas-crafty-challenge.html

All things lacy

Hi everyone,

I have had a very fabulous and very busy weekend but managed to make up a quick card tonight with a bit of a lacy theme running through it.

I ordered some new grand spellbinders dies from Icon UK which I used to make the 2 doily style circles. The pink paper is from the Nit-Wit collection papers and the yellow is from a papermania set.

The image is Sherri Baldy and it has been coloured with my trusty Spectrum Noirs!
I completed it with a few bits and bobs from my embellishments collections.

Hope you like, would love to hear from any of you that are out there tonight!

Hugs! xxx

A nice sunny day crafting

Hi everyone!
Well, what a beautiful day it has been today!!! Sun is shining and automatically that perks everyone up and makes them feel happy!
I have finally had a spare day when I have been able to craft today. I used some of my new kits, the card I am showing in this blog is from the new Forever Friends kit.
I used the pink spotty paper from the kit as well as the topper. The frame is a Sizzix die, it was the perfect fit for the topper and I think it looks really pretty once it's cut out.
The button ribbon across the middle is Forever Friends and I have added either side of that a pink border that my mom got me for my birthday, bless her! The ribbons down the side I recently bought from the Ribbon Reel. I have been so pleased with what I bought from them, it really adds a special something to your projects. Last off, a few little embellishments with the flowers and Hobby House Pearls. And there you have it!

Hope everyone has enjoyed their day, finally Summer has arrived!!!! Enjoy your Saturday evening! xxx

Simply 'Gorjuss'!

Hi everyone! Bit of a midweek blog tonight, just to be different!

I went on a bit of a Spree in The Range last week, buying stamps and paper from the Docrafts 'Gorjuss' range. I stamped the image and coloured using Spectrum Noirs.
The die cuts were done using Spellbinders Labels 29 and the red paper was embossed using the Garden Lattice m-bossibilities folder.
The flowered and beige paper is Gorjuss while the red is from my stash of paper.
The sentiment was stamped onto the Gorguss paper and then die cut, adding a few red pearls as finising touches.

Hopefully I will be able to blog a little more regularly over the coming weeks! That holiday is looking ever closer! Have a lovely rest of the night! xxx

Sugar Buttons - so pretty!

Hi everyone! Hope you are all keeping warm in this horrible spring snow we are having!

I braved the weather yesterday to go to the NEC and am very glad I did. It was great because so any people had stayed away with the weather I was free to browse rather than get trampled on by people!

I ordered some of the Sugar Buttons toppers and card stock in the Kanban 50% sale last week so put these to use today. The bottom layer of the pink paper and the white paper is Centura Pearl. I used a spellbinders die (labels 29) for the rectangular shapes and a Die'Sire die for the circular pattern.

Spellbinders garden lattice (A4 m-bossibilities) was used to emboss the pink paper and I then used organza ribbon across the back. The flowers were a bargain from the Range - 12 flowers for £1!

For the second card I again used the garden lattice m-bossibilities folder and Die'sire die. I die cut 2 of this shape and slightly overlapped them to give it another dimension. The pink pearls are liquid pearl, as it's a lot cheaper than putting on actual stones around all of the gaps!

Hope you like the cards - I have been so frustrated at the lack of time I have had to craft, but it is nearly the holidays now! As a primary teacher, when sats are around the corner it's all systems go!

Have a good week everyone! Stay warm! xx

Saturated canary

Hi everyone! Not been around for a while, hope life is treating you all well!
I was lucky enough to find the saturated canary online store the other day and WOW!!!! The images are so gorgeous to colour, I spent hours on Friday colouring (bit of therapy before I head back to work Monday!)

I coloured the image using spectrum noirs (as always!) sing:
EB4, TN4 and TN2 for the hair
OR1, CT3, CT4 for the dress
FS2, FS3, FS4 for the skin

I used the spellbinders blossom tree die to make the branches as I liked the idea of a die that matched the image, I then used papermania flowers to stick on the tree. The paper is also papermania. The doily and lace are from my crafty stash but all are recently bought so are available in the shops now!

If you haven't yet added me on facebook https://www.facebook.com/dymo.cards or followed my blog, I would love if you could, I love my hobby and want to share any ideas with anyone that wants to have a peek!

Crafty hugs! K xxx

A well needed bit of warmth!

Happy Snow day!
So apparently today is the most depressing day of the year? Well, hopefully this card will bring a bit of cheer - it has a warm feel to it (at least that was the aim!)

Tilda was coloured using Spectrum Noirs
Dress & Hat TB5, TB6, TB7, DR3, DR5
Skin - FS1, FS2, FS3
Hair - TN6, TN7, EB4
Shoes - BT1 & blender pen
Flowers - TB3, DR4, CG4
Champagne - EB1

I then used a heart shaped doily and coloured it using DR3.
The butterflies are spellbinders - the red backing ones are a perfect size match for the detailed die cut ones I have done in navy which gives it a nice effect.
Papers were embossed using spellbinders and then embellishments were added from the crafty stash.

I want to also take the time to say a big thank you to everyone that has commented on my blog since I started it up, your comments have been lovely and they really do mean a lot! :-) Thank you! xxx

More magnolia

Ooooh I have had a busy old day crafting today! :-) I've really tried to experiment with the Tilda stamps, people do such beautiful cards using them, I am doing my best to head towards that, although I have a long way to go!

Tilda was coloured using:
Clothing - CG2, CG4, DG3
Trim on boots, clothing and hat - CG1, CG2
Skin - FS1, FS2, FS3
feather - BG4, BG5
Hair - EB3, EB4

I die cut it using a spellbinders square die, then added a range of embellishments to jazz it up, most of which are Papermania.

For Tilda the skin tones are the same as above
leotard - LV1, LV2, HB2
Hair - TN4, TN7, TN8
ribbon - PL3, HB1

I inked the edge with distress ink and again added a whole host of embellishments. I have really, really enjoyed making these cards today, I really hope you like them! Have a good rest of the evening! Hugs xxx

Brand New Tilda

Hi everyone!!!
Waiting for this snow with baited breath! I don't think it will be anywhere near as bad as people are making out, but we shall see!

I ordered some Magnolia stamps this week, some from Sunrise Crafts and one from Sir Stampalot. I have to say first of all the speed of the delivery was fantastic!!! Ordered Thursday evening, arrived Saturday morning. I was so impressed I have ordered some more today!

One of those that I ordered was 'Tilda with love potion'. I like this image as I feel it can work for a variety of purpose. It can be valentine/love related but it can also be birthday or congratulations. Very versatile!

Tilda was coloured using Spectrum Noirs -
Hair - TN4, EB3, EB4, EB5
Dress - PP2, PP3, PP4
Shoes - PP4, PP5
Skin - FS1, FS2, FS3
Champagne glass - IG1 (glass) TN1 (champagne)

I have inked the edges with distress ink (spun sugar) and cut it out using a sizzix framlit die.

The pink dots around the outside edge of the pink paper is liquid pearls - a lot cheaper than using a lot of gems!

Hugs xxx

Sunday 6 January 2013

gorgeously girly

Hello everyone!
Normality resumes tomorrow so I am making the most of a crafty Sunday!

I coloured this Magnolia stamp using Spectrum Noirs - it's a very pretty and girly image so the same applied to the colours I used.
I then used Sizzix flower dies for the backgrounds and Spellbinders lattice dies for the corners. I then topped it all off with bits and bobs from the crafty stash.
It was actually a really simple card to do, the thing that took the longest was the colouring!
But as I love a bit of therapeutic colouring I don't mind how long that takes! ;-)

Hope everyone has a super week! xxx

A Musical Birthday

Happy New Year everyone!!! How lovely to have seen the back of 2012, I really hope 2013 is a wonderful year for you all!
I was asked to do a Birthday card for someone who loved all things West End Musical/Broadway. All I knew was that the Phantom of the opera was her favourite musical. I have got to say of all the cards I have been asked to make, this one was the most difficult! It was knowing where to start! I love musicals myself but what is my idea of the perfect musical might be someone elses' living hell!

But anyway....... I got to it! This is what I came up with....

It became a case of looking for images that I could use. The backing paper (the orange lights) is actually a picture of the lights from Broadway, but I loved how they were out of focus. I then used the mask from the Phantom and the hat from Chicago as the other musical references. Finally the 'clacker' (I'm sure it has a proper name, but it escapes me right now!) was printed, and the recipients name popped on for the personal touch. I used one of my new Spellbinders dies for the sentiment and then just added some last touches from the crafty stash! Hope you like!
The person who ordered the card is thrilled with it, which is lovely!

Have a great rest of your day everyone whatever you are doing! xx
